Our Neighborhood Park

This is our neighborhood park we are always talking about and visiting. Ryan help build this play set along with people in our neighborhood. We love going here. There is a little walking trail round the edge of the park that the kids ride their bikes on and we walk around.

Grandpa and Grandma Van Dyke

Grandpa and Grandma Van Dyke came to visit over the weekend. We had so much a fun time with them and hated to see them go. They watched the kids on Valentine's Day so we could go out on a date. On Sunday we had a Valentine's Dinner and made heart shaped spaghetti noodles, chocolate covered strawberries and Martinelli's. The kids loved the dinner and kept saying that I made the best dinner ever. We walked over to the neighborhood park. It was very nice and relaxing weekend. We hope Grandpa and Grandma can come back soon.

Kid's Valentine's Parties

Lauren's was so proud she made her hat. She got lots of candy and had fun giving out her Valentines to her friends. I didn't get a picture of Lauren's Valentines box she made at school but it was decorated with stickers and lace.
Her best friend is Sariah. Lauren goes to church with her too. She is very cute and girly just like Lauren.
This is Johnathan and his buddy Connor that lives down the street. It looks like they made there hats too.

Johnathan's class was so crazy. They had so many kids and not a lot of space on the floor. He had to hand write every Valentine's with his friends name and his name. It took them a long time to get the Valentines delivered but everyone went home with plenty of candy.

Lauren's Bandaid from School

I thought this picture was cute of the kids eating their ice cream cones in the fort but the story is about Lauren's band aid from school. I went and picked her up from school and she has this band aid over her eyebrow. The teacher hands me an accident report that she had to fill out from the school. I guess what happened is that she got up during nap time and hit her head on the edge of the table and split her head open and didn't even know it was bleeding and went back to sleep. When she woke up her shirt was all bloody. When her teacher saw her at the end of nap time she was a big mess and gave the teacher a scare. Luckily no stitches or hospital visit, just a band aid, thank goodness.

Luke's Exit

First I need to call attention to Luke's slippers. They are Johnathan's old Lightening Mc Queen slippers and quite large. He loves them. The funny thing that he has been doing lately is that when we say it is time to go he will pick up his jacket and stand in front of the door until it is time to go. Here he is in action.
Bending down to get his jacket.

Ready to go.

Staining the Fence

Ryan and the kids started out staining the fence. We had to bring in reinforments so we called Tyler to help finish the job. Ryan did a great job and he is so glad it is done. Johnathan was a very big helper.

I think that the bottom part of the play house got several coats of paint. Lauren didn't know what to do when I told her that it was OK to get dirty. She had a great time helping too.

Luke loves following the kids and Ryan around. When we let him go in the backyard he has so much fun getting to anything he can touch.

Tyler is playing basketball with Johnathan in the picture, but he helped finish the fence in double the time. We were so glad he came over.

Here is the final project. Hopefully Ryan doesn't have to do this for a couple more years.
